Pars Today — The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced a new maritime control zone in the Strait of Hormuz in an official statement.

According to Pars Today, based on the IRGC statement, the new smart control zone of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Strait of Hormuz is defined as follows:

1. From the south: the line between Kuh-e Mobarak in Iran and southern Fujairah in the UAE

2. From the west: the line between the end of Qeshm Island in Iran and Umm Al Quwain in the UAE

The announcement of the new maritime control zone in the Strait of Hormuz by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) comes as the commander of the terrorist U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and the President of the United States declared that they would begin their actions—under the title “Operation Freedom”—on Monday morning to ensure the passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.

In response, Major General Ali Abdollahi, commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stated: “The security of the Strait of Hormuz is under our control, and any passage must be coordinated with the Iranian Armed Forces. We warn that any foreign armed forces, especially the aggressive U.S. military, will be targeted if they attempt to approach or enter the Strait of Hormuz.”
