Baqaei: Yousefi’s record-breaking moment display of Iranian nation’s will

Pars Today – The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry wrote that the moment Iranian weightlifter Alireza Yousefi successfully lifted 261 kg and broke a world record represented the will of an entire nation.

According to Pars Today, Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, wrote on his personal account on the social media platform X that the moment Yousefi lifted the 261 kg weight and set a world record was a manifestation of national determination.

Baqaei emphasized that dedicating this championship medal and the honor of breaking a world record to the martyrs of Minab created a scene reflecting the connection between strength, pride, and devotion to the homeland.

He added: “Salute to Alireza Yousefi; a champion who proudly shouted Iran’s name at the top of the world.”

Alireza Yousefi, competing in the +110 kg category, had a standout performance at the Asian Weightlifting Championships, winning bronze in the snatch, gold in the clean and jerk with a new world record, and silver in the total.
