According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, Xi Jinping, President of China, during a meeting with his Russian counterpart at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Tuesday, referred to Vladimir Putin as a “longtime friend,” and said:
“For years we have maintained close relations and together we have defined key frameworks for deepening and developing China–Russia relations—a comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction in the new era.”
The Chinese president also referred to the war between the U.S. and Israel against Iran, telling his Russian counterpart that further conflicts in West Asia are “ill-advised” and that ending the war is necessary.
Russian President: The world today needs serious cooperation between Russia and China
The President of Russia, addressing his Chinese counterpart as a “dear friend,” said that Moscow and Beijing’s cooperation in foreign policy is one of the key stabilizing factors on the international stage.
He added that the complex process of forming a multipolar world order—based on a balance of interests among all participants—is currently underway.
Vladimir Putin further stated that, together with Chinese partners, Russia supports cultural and civilizational diversity and respect for the sovereign development of countries, and is working toward establishing a more just and democratic global order.
Referring to the upcoming 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in 2026, Putin said that Russia will continue active cooperation within the organization and will properly celebrate its 25th anniversary, noting that it has become an exemplary model of how to fairly resolve issues and promote integration across a vast shared region.
