Pars Today – The Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Iran said that Khayyam, the Iranian poet, is not only part of Iran’s history and past, but also a living component of its cultural identity.

According to Pars Today, citing Tasnim News Agency, Seyyed Abbas Salehi issued a message on the occasion of the anniversary of the commemoration of the renowned Iranian poet Omar Khayyam.

He wrote that in a world where the modern human being is more than ever trapped in the rush of life, the confusion of narratives, and the noise of everyday routine, revisiting the poems of the wise Omar Khayyam can be an invitation once again to think, reflect, and engage in dialogue with oneself.

He added that Khayyam represents a deeply rooted tradition of rational thought in Iranian culture—a tradition that calls on humans to question, to reflect on the meaning of life, and to reconsider their relationship with the world.

The Iranian minister emphasized that in an era when the speed of change often deprives people of deep understanding and reflection, Khayyam’s heritage can still be inspiring for today’s society; a legacy in which science and literature, reason and poetry, and life and thought are not in opposition but complementary.

Salehi stated that Khayyam is not only part of Iran’s history and past; he is a living part of the nation’s cultural identity—a voice that, after centuries, still calls on modern humans to reflect on time, truth, life, and the value of each moment.
