Baqaei: US government is trying to hide truth

Pars Today- The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry has described Washington’s refusal to issue visas to journalists and the media team accompanying the Iranian president to the United Nations General Assembly as part of an effort to “hide the truth and continue a campaign of fake disinformation by violating the right to access information.”

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei, in a post on his social media account responding to the refusal to issue visas to Iranian journalists and media team members accompanying the Islamic Republic of Iran’s delegation to the UN General Assembly, wrote: “When a government even prevents its own US media from accessing information while simultaneously blocking foreign journalists, including the Iranian president’s media team, because it does not want their voices to be heard, this is not access management. Rather, it is an attempt to hide the truth and continue a campaign of fake disinformation by violating the right to access information.”

He stressed: “A country that once took pride in claiming to have brought down the Iron Curtain is now itself trapped behind an Iron Curtain within its own borders.”
