Pars Today – Iran’s Minister of Agriculture stated that, due to its reliance on domestic production and resilience, Iran is among the world’s top five countries with sustainable food security.

According to Pars Today, citing Tasnim News Agency, Gholamreza Nouri Ghezeljeh, Iran’s Minister of Agriculture, said during a meeting with university professors, scientific elites in the field of agriculture, and private sector representatives that food security achievements under crisis conditions demonstrate the need for a deep connection between academic knowledge and the production sector in order to increase productivity.

He emphasized: “Food security is Iran’s top priority not only under normal conditions, but also during times of crisis, and no disruption in this area is acceptable.”

Referring to difficult economic conditions and external pressures over recent years, he added: “Despite various imposed challenges such as severe droughts, transportation fluctuations, and pressures resulting from sanctions, Iran has never experienced a sense of shortage of goods.”

The Iranian agriculture minister stated that “the enemy attempted to create unrest by targeting production infrastructure and storage facilities, but through proactive strategies regarding essential commodities, we were able to overcome the situation.”

He further added: “Due to its high level of resilience and strength, the food security system of the Islamic Republic of Iran ranks among the top five systems in the world. This achievement is the result of unity among different branches of power, the round-the-clock efforts of those active in the production chain, and scientific and executive support.”
