Pars Today – The opening day of the World Women’s Open Taekwondo Championships in China ended with an Iranian athlete winning the silver medal in the +73kg weight category.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, on the first day of the World Women’s Open Taekwondo Championships in Taiyuan, China, Hana Zarinkamar of Iran, competing in the +73kg category, first defeated China’s Zhang Suchan 2–1. In the second round, she beat another Chinese athlete, Zhou Ziqi, 2–0.
In the quarterfinals, Zarinkamar defeated South Korea’s Song Da-bin 2–0, and in the semifinals, she secured another 2–0 victory over Uzbekistan’s Iroda Mirtajojeva to reach the final.
In the final, she lost 2–0 to Lauren Williams of England, earning the silver medal.
