Pars Today – The senior military adviser to Iran’s Leader said that the United States and Israel entered the recent war against Iran with the aim of weakening the Islamic Republic, undermining domestic unity, and reshaping regional dynamics, but failed to achieve their objectives.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, senior adviser and assistant to the Commander-in-Chief, described the military attack by the United States and the Zionist regime on Iran and the assassination of the Leader of the Revolution as the enemy’s greatest strategic mistake.
He stated that the enemy not only failed to accomplish its goals, but that the attack instead strengthened national cohesion and increased solidarity among the Iranian people.
Safavi emphasized that national unity, support for the leadership, and the strengthening of indigenous capabilities are the most important requirements for overcoming wartime conditions.
Referring to the massive turnout at the funeral ceremonies for the martyred Leader of the Revolution, Safavi described the events as among the largest public gatherings in modern history. He added that the large crowds in Tehran, Qom, Mashhad, Najaf, and Karbala reflected the deep bond between the Iranian people and the ideals of the Islamic Revolution and received widespread international media coverage.
Safavi further stated that the turnout demonstrated that the social foundations of the Islamic Revolution remain vibrant and resilient, and that enemy pressure and psychological operations have failed to weaken this connection.
Referring to the strategic consequences of the recent U.S. war against Iran, Major General Safavi said that, just as the Ashura movement inspired freedom-seekers around the world, the blood of the martyred Leader of the Revolution and the other martyrs of this path would strengthen the spirit of resistance among free nations across the globe, with effects extending far beyond Iran’s borders.
The senior adviser and assistant to the Commander-in-Chief also stressed the role of the people in overcoming the current sensitive circumstances, saying that over the past four decades, the Islamic Republic of Iran has weathered numerous crises by relying on faith, unity, and popular support.
He added that, by preserving national cohesion, strengthening domestic capabilities, and maintaining the spirit of resistance, Iran would successfully overcome the present challenges as well.
