Pars Today – Maritime data tracking company Kpler said that the vast majority of vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz have used the route designated by Iran.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, data from Kpler shows that out of 11 vessels that transited the Strait of Hormuz, nine chose a route closer to Iranian waters. These vessels have mainly been involved in transporting crude oil, petroleum products, liquefied gas, methanol, and iron ore, and have been linked to Iran’s maritime trade.
Amid rising regional tensions and increased maritime restrictions, some shipping companies have altered their routes through the Strait of Hormuz in an effort to reduce risks. According to Kpler’s assessment, the use of routes closer to Iran’s coastline has increased in recent months.
