Pars Today – Iran’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations condemned the United States’ aggressive actions and attacks on Iran’s civilian infrastructure, saying that the strikes amount to serious violations of international humanitarian law and constitute war crimes.
According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, Amir Saeid Iravani, Iran’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations, wrote in a letter on Thursday to UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the rotating president of the Security Council that the Islamic Republic of Iran “strongly condemns the aggressive actions and deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure by the United States.”
Iravani stressed that the repeated attacks against civilian targets represent serious violations of international humanitarian law and constitute war crimes, for which, he said, the United States bears full international responsibility.
The Iranian envoy to the United Nations also warned that the continuation of unlawful armed attacks poses a serious threat to international peace and security, freedom of navigation, regional stability, and the security of the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
