Iran and Tajikistan discuss increasing academic scholarship quotas

Pars Today – Iran’s ambassador to Tajikistan and the country’s Minister of Education and Science discussed ways to increase academic scholarship quotas between the two countries while emphasizing the expansion of scientific and educational cooperation.

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, Tajikistan’s Minister of Education and Science, Rahim Saidzoda, and Iran’s ambassador to the country, Alireza Haghighian, held talks on expanding educational, scientific, and academic cooperation, as well as increasing the number of academic scholarships.

According to Tajikistan’s Ministry of Education and Science, Iran and Tajikistan currently allocate 50 academic scholarships annually to each other’s citizens, with the majority of them dedicated to medical sciences. During the meeting, both sides stressed the need to increase these quotas to strengthen scientific and academic cooperation.

The meeting also addressed the implementation of joint research projects, the development of educational and scientific textbooks, expanding cooperation between the universities of the two countries, and promoting the teaching of the Persian language and literature.
