Araghchi: Iran remains firm in its commitment to resistance despite pressures

Pars Today – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi said Iran will remain steadfast in its commitment to resistance despite all pressures.

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, speaking on Sunday at the conference “Muharram and Ashura in the Mirror of Foreign Ministry Documents,” stressed that, at the deeper levels of the documentation on Ashura contained in these records, one can discern the manifestation of Iran’s “civilizational pursuit of dignity” in confrontation with the system of domination and colonial powers. He emphasized that Iran’s diplomacy reflected in these documents is not a rigid, dry, and opportunistic diplomacy, but rather a “human-centered diplomacy.”

Iran’s Foreign Minister said at the conference: “This year, Muharram and Ashura in Iran have taken on a different character. The historic nation of Iran came under the unjust and cowardly aggression of two lawless and defiant regimes, the United States and Israel, and made numerous martyrs in the cause of the country’s freedom and dignity and the upholding of the Word of God.

The Iranian people, devoted to the ideals of Imam Hussein (pbuh), witnessed with their own eyes the shedding of the blood of the Sayyid al-Shuhada of the Islamic Revolution and his devoted sons, from the Shajareh Tayyebeh School in Minab to the Dena warship, as well as the sons of Lamerd and Iran’s valiant soldiers. Yet they stood steadfastly and courageously for their dignity and independence, demonstrating that they had lived the message of Ashura with every fiber of their being.”

According to Iran’s Foreign Minister, throughout history, many nations have faced critical moments, found themselves at decisive crossroads, and had their character put to the test and subject to judgment. From poverty and blockade to imposed war and aggression. At such defining moments, oppressed nations have been compelled to answer a fundamental question: Should they surrender and live under the yoke of oppression, or stand up for their values and ideals to the very end, even at the cost of their lives?

True patriotism is not blind loyalty to the land; rather, it is loyalty to the values that give that land meaning—freedom, justice, human dignity, and the assurance that future generations can live independently in their own homeland and determine their own destiny.

Iran’s Foreign Minister noted at the conference: History has repeatedly shown that when nations abandon sacrifice, perseverance, and efforts to preserve their independence, they lose more than just their land. They risk losing their collective identity, national will, and ability to shape their own future. Once they surrender, regaining their dignity becomes extremely difficult, if not impossible. It is with this understanding—both ideological and, of course, strategic—that Iran has remained steadfast in its commitment to resistance despite all the pressures, and God willing, will continue to do so.

Araghchi stressed: Today, Iran stands firm amid a storm of injustice and oppression. We remain committed to the pledge we made to the Sayyid al-Shuhada of our time, the great and revered Leader, the martyred Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei, and we will not allow these unjustly shed bloods to be forgotten or ignored. We will neither forget nor forgive. This blood will continue to boil and will make the tree of the struggle for justice grow stronger and more firmly rooted with each passing day.
