Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and visiting Deputy Italian Foreign Minister Vincenzo Amendola exchanged views about a range of issues, including the latest efforts to boost bilateral relations between Tehran and Rome.

Speaking at the meeting in Tehran on Sunday, Zarif pointed to economic projects being implemented in Iran and said there are good capacities to develop Italian companies’ activities in the Islamic Republic.

Amendola, for his part, said Italian companies and investors are ready to expand their cooperation with Iran in diverse areas.

During the meeting, the diplomat also said the Italian foreign minister plans to pay an official visit to Iran in future.

The two sides also discussed the implementation process of the 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
