Police chief underlines Iran’s role in regional security
Iranian Police Commander Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari praised the powerful presence of the Islamic Republic’s military advisers in the Middle East and said security has been boosted in the region thanks to such presence.
According to Tasnim news agency, addressing a ceremony in the nonwestern city of Oroumiyeh on Wednesday, Brigadier General Ashtari praised the security situation in Iran and the region and said, “Today, thanks to the presence of the people and the power of the Armed Forces…, we are witnessing this sustainable security that prevails the entire region.”
“If we look at the neighboring countries of Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan, it can be understood what happened and who wanted to harm the security of these countries and Iran but failed to achieve their goals,” he added.
“The expansion of security in the region has been achieved thanks to the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the commander said, adding that there would no security if the advisers were not present in these countries.
In recent years, the Middle East has been plagued with Takfiri terrorist groups like Daesh, which are believed to have been created and supported by the West and some regional Arab countries.
The terrorist groups, which claim to be Islamic but whose actions are anything but, have been committing heinous crimes not only against non-Muslims but mostly against Muslims in the region.
Iraq and Syria have been among the countries gripped by terrorism.
Iran, a close ally of the two countries, has supported their legitimate governments in their campaign against foreign-backed militancy and terrorism.
