Rouhani: Iran, Qatar serve regional peace

President Hassan Rouhani said the capacities and potential of Iran and Qatar could contribute to regional peace and stability.

According to Tasnim news agency, in a message to Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Ale Thani, Rouhani congratulated the Qatari emir and people on the Arab country’s National Day.

He also underlined that capitalizing on the potential and capacities of Iran and Qatar could help establish peace and stability in the region and enhance bilateral ties in various fields.

The Iranian president finally wished prosperity for the “brotherly and neighborly” people of Qatar.

Qatar celebrates its National Day on December 18, in commemoration of its unification back in 1878.

Iran and Qatar have moved to strengthen ties in recent months, particularly after Saudi Arabia severed ties with the Doha government and imposed sanctions on it in 2017.
