  • Russia's State Museum Director: Tehran Book Fair is one of the largest in the world

Pars Today - The Director of Russia's State Literary Museum said: "The Tehran Book Fair is astonishing, and it is one of the largest book fairs I have ever seen."

Bak, a literary critic and Director of Russia's State Literary Museum, referring to his first trip to Iran and his visit to the Tehran Book Fair said: 'I have seen over 100 book fairs in different countries, and I should say that Tehran Book Fair is truly astonishing, and in my opinion, it is one of the largest book fairs I have ever seen.'"

In an interview with the 35th Tehran International Book Fair's news headquarters, Bak stated that he had become familiar with many classic and famous Iranian poets and writers, such as Khayyam, Hafez, Ferdowsi, Sa’di, Rumi, and other great literary figures of Iran during his university years.

He added: "In my opinion, Iranian and Russian literature and culture are very close. In this exhibition, we had a session discussing Pushkin, a famous Russian writer and poet, whose works were influenced by Hafez's and even Quranic verses."

He said: "The Russian Book Fair will be held in late August and early September in Moscow, and the Islamic Republic of Iran has a significant presence in this exhibition every year, usually with a large pavilion. I am eager to see Iranian writers participate in this exhibition and meet with Russian writers."

The 35th Tehran International Book Fair, with the slogan "Let’s Read and Create", started on Wednesday, May 8, at the Imam Khomeini Mosalla in Tehran and will be open to visitors until Saturday, May 18.
