Iran to help Mali train AI manpower

Pars Today- Deputy of Research Center of Communications and Information Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran informed of cooperation with Mali in training of manpower in artificial intelligence and said, "This cooperation will set the ground for exchanging of knowledge and experiences in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI)."

Alireza Yari, in a meeting with a delegation of elite from the African country of Mali, explaining on the missions and goals of this research center, underlined the importance of artificial intelligence as one of the key fields in the domain of information technology and added, "The Center of Innovation and Development of Artificial Intelligence of Iran has been able to successfully turn into one of the specialized centers in this field."

Ms. Jacqueline Segoba Konaté, head of the Center of Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Industry of Mali, during the meeting, referred to the Malian delegation's visit to Research Center of Communications and Information Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and expressed hope that with inking of the letter of understanding for cooperation between Iran and Mali in the field of modern technologies, her country would be able to, besides development of infrastructures, benefit from Iran's experiences and capacities to educate manpower in the field of AI.

Ms. Konaté added, "The Center of Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Industry of Mali is trying to set up a center in Mali like Iran's Center of Communications and Information Technology."

The head of the Center of Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Industry of Mali and the delegation, during the visit to the Center of Communications and Information Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while suggesting cooperation for training of manpower in the field of AI and modern technologies, had an opportunity to pay a visit to the laboratorial infrastructures of the research center pertaining to communications and information technology and pioneering projects in the field of artificial intelligence.

These projects include validation of cyberspace content, artificial intelligence laboratory, project of estimation of lands under cultivation of agricultural crops, AI regulatory project, and smart project, each of which indicates remarkable progresses of Iranian scientists in the field.
