Pars Today - Iran’s president-elect, Masoud Pezeshkian, emphasizing the importance of following the path of Martyr Qassem Soleimani, said that he was on the path of unity and solidarity. Pezeshkian made the remarks during a meeting with Martyr Soleimani's family at their home.

According to Pars Today, Pezeshkian in this meeting paid tribute to the lofty status of Martyr Soleimani, considering him a model of jihad and selflessness, who had distanced himself from love of power and position. 

The President-elect of Iran expressed hope that in the new government, they could serve the people sincerely and not disappoint the martyrs' benevolence, and stand proudly before the martyrs.

During this meeting, Martyr Soleimani's family also spoke about his services, saying: Martyr Soleimani dedicated his entire life to serving the people of Iran and had a famous phrase: 'My life and the lives of those like me are worth sacrificing for the Iranian nation thousands of times.’

Martyr Soleimani's family added: Martyr Soleimani was both a national and Ummah- oriented figure for the Islamic world and did not categorize the people into specific groups or spectra.

Martyr Soleimani's family also considered attention to the resistance movement and continuation of the dignified path of Martyr Soleimani as one of the demands of the Iranian people from the new government, and said: God willing, the martyrs will help you succeed on the path of serving the dear people."

At the end of the meeting, Soleimani's family presented president-elect Pezeshkian a portrayal of the martyr as a memento.

Lt. General Qassem Soleimani (1955-2020), known as 'Haj Qassem', was the former commander of the Quds Force and the axis of resistance in West Asia against the Zionist regime and the United States. After the emergence of Daesh in Iraq and Syria, he played a key role in fighting against the terrorist group by organizing popular forces in cooperation with the governments of these two countries, and had a special role in destroying Daesh’s rule in occupied areas.

His expertise in executing military tactics and neutralizing colonial plans were so great that he was given the nickname 'General Without a Shadow'. Finally, Lt. General Soleimani was martyred at the age of 63, on Friday, January 3, 2020, in Iraq, in a terrorist operation by the United States.

This event led to Iran taking unprecedented action, launching a missile attack on the Ain al-Asad base, the main US base in Iraq, and subsequently initiating an unofficial battle against US military forces in West Asia.
