Human faces & animal hearts/ Who are the moving dead in the Qur\'an?

Pars Today- Hojjat-ol-Eslam Naser Rafie, religious expert, interpreting some verses of chapter Rūm of the holy Qur'an on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadhan, said, "God says in the Qur'an that some human beings, when they are granted with bounties, rebel and when bounties turn their back to them they are fallen in ingratitude of God.

The world is one day in our favour and one day to our harm. It is not right not to be thankful when it is in our favour and be unthankful when it is to our harm."

Hojjat-ol-Eslam Rafie said, "The universe has ups and downs and calm and quake. According to the verses of the holy Qur'an, Prophet Job, Prophet John and Prophet Zachariah suffered a lot of hardships, but they were patient."

Dr. Rafie, in part of this speech, pointed to anther verse of the holy Qur'an, saying, "God says to the Prophet, 'You cannot speak to the dead.' Some have explained this verse that it means those whose hearts are dead.

This expert of religious affairs, referring to God's emphasis in the Qur'an that anyone who does a righteous deed he will be rewarded pure life meaning his heart will be alive, said, "The Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (PBUH), says that some people are moving dead. Their face is human face, but their heart is animal's heart. Their life is animal life. In the holy Qur'an, life has been mentioned in the sense of Resurrection, too. The Qur'an says, 'In the Hereafter some will say we wish we had sent something for our life."

Dr. Rafie, continued that some people cannot see while they have eyes and cannot hear while they have ears, continued. It means that they cannot understand realities.

Referring to God's greetings to Prophet Noah, Prophet Abraham and other prophets and that God does not greet the dead, Hojjat-ol-Eslam Rafie went on to say, "This shows that they are alive in the afterlife."

He stated, "After the Battle of Badr, the Prophet of Islam spoke to the dead of the enemy and asked them if they had found God's promise true. Some people protested him that, "Is it possible to speak to the dead?' The Prophet said, 'Now they understand better than you what I am saying."

This teacher of ethics, pointing to the saying number 130 of Imam Ali's Nahj-ul-Balagha, reiterated, "In the battle of Siffin, Imam Ali (PBUH) on his way back from the war, stopped at the cemetery of Kufa and addressing the dead, said, 'O inhabitants of the land of loneliness and horror! If you want to know about Ali, I have three news for you. Nobody lives at your homes anymore, your properties were distributed and your wives are living their own life.' Then Imam Ali turned to the companions and said, 'Had God permitted these dead to speak, they all would have said the only thing that is useful for us here is Godwariness and self-control."
