  • Biden taps 3,000 reservists for Europe; RFK Jr calls it prep for 'ground war with Russia'

US President Joe Biden has signed an executive order that will allow the Pentagon to deploy up to 3,000 reserve troops to Europe amid the persisting Ukraine conflict, sparking censure of the move as a potential initiation of “world war 3.”

"Biden is now calling US Military reserves to active duty in Europe for 'Operation Atlantic Resolve.' These people really want WW3," said Ryan Fournier, founder of a student group backing former US president Donald Trump in the next presidential election in Twitter post on Friday.

Attorney Jenna Ellis, a former member of Trump’s legal team, also tweeted: "WW3 is coming" and shared an article about Biden's executive order.

US Democrat Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has marked that Biden's mobilization of troops to support Operation Atlantic Resolve is preparation for a "ground war with Russia."

"I want people to understand what this troop mobilization is about," he continued. "It's about preparing for a ground war with Russia."

Operation Atlantic Resolve has led to a notable rise in US military presence in Europe, particularly since the war started.

Biden has signed the order after his five day trip to Europe, during which he attended a Two-day NATO summit in Lithuania.

The Pentagon said last year it increased the US troop presence on the continent by about 20,000 soldiers, bringing the total US force in Europe to more than 100,000.

US had earlier announced it will send internationally banned cluster bombs to Ukraine which was also censured by critics.

According to the International Committee of the Red Cross, up to 40 percent of cluster bombs result in unexploded rounds or duds, which can cause civilian deaths for many years to come.
