How Hamas treated Israeli prisoners?
Pars Today – Zionist sources, following the release of all living Israeli captives from Gaza, admitted that all of them were in good physical condition. This comes as reports from Palestinian sources highlight the dire conditions of Palestinian prisoners who have spent years under severe torture by the Israeli occupation forces.
According to Pars Today, Zionist sources confirmed that on Monday, under the agreement reached in the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire talks in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, all 20 living Israeli captives were handed over by the Red Cross in two stages, and all were reported to be in good physical condition.
In this regard, Israel’s Channel 13 news network released images of the freed Israeli prisoners and assessed their physical condition as good.
Additionally, Israel’s medical organization confirmed that all Israeli captives received from the International Red Cross are in very good physical condition and are completely healthy.
Prior to the release, Hamas also allowed the Israeli prisoners, in a humanitarian gesture, to have video calls with their families to reassure them of their well-being.
The excellent health of the Israeli prisoners comes as shocking videos have circulated on social media showing the inhumane and brutal treatment of Palestinian prisoners by Israeli forces prior to their release.
In these videos, which highlight the physical toll of Israeli torture on the weakened Palestinian detainees and underscore the occupiers’ inhumane behavior and public disgrace, the prisoners are seen with their eyes and hands bound, bodies bent, while Israeli forces label them as “dangerous terrorists.”
Meanwhile, more than 11,000 Palestinians in Israeli prisons are suffering from torture, hunger, and medical neglect. According to human rights reports and Palestinian and Israeli media, many of them have died as a result of the harsh conditions in Israeli detention facilities.
At the same time, and as acknowledged by these human rights organizations, following the “Al-Aqsa Storm” operation, conditions in the overcrowded Israeli prisons have become even more severe and dangerous for Palestinian prisoners.
Released Palestinian detainees have described being subjected to various forms of physical and psychological torture in these prisons. They also reported that Israeli authorities deprived them of adequate medical care and sufficient food.
However, Palestinian news sources report that there is significant uncertainty regarding the list of Palestinian prisoners slated for release from Israeli prisons. Contrary to the agreement, Israel has reportedly manipulated the list and is attempting to prevent the release of some prominent figures of the Gaza resistance.
