Pars Today – Sanaa has activated a new “eye for an eye” equation, warning international airlines not to use Saudi airspace.
According to Pars Today, citing Mehr News Agency, Yemen’s armed forces issued a stern warning to all airlines, urging them to refrain from flying through Saudi airspace.
The statement stressed that international carriers must take these warnings seriously until the blockade on Sanaa International Airport is lifted. In this context, Sanaa said it is implementing the formula of “airport for airport and blockade for blockade.”
The statement also reaffirmed Sanaa’s commitment to breaking the blockade imposed on Yemen and warned that attacks on Saudi airports could escalate in the event of war. It described the prolonged closure of Sanaa International Airport as a “humanitarian crime” that has affected millions of civilians.
The warning came after Yahya Saree, spokesman for Yemen’s armed forces, announced an attack on Abha International Airport deep inside Saudi territory using several ballistic missiles and drones.
He said the operation had successfully achieved all of its objectives and constituted the first response to the aggression against Sanaa International Airport. Saree also warned that if the blockade on Yemen’s airports continues, further retaliatory measures will follow.
