Yemen warns Saudi Arabia: Expect severe punishment

Pars Today — Yemen’s Foreign Ministry has warned Saudi Arabia that unless it ends the blockade imposed on the country, Riyadh should expect severe consequences.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, Yemen’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement issued early Tuesday that Saudi Arabia continues to treat Yemen as a territory under its control. The ministry added that Riyadh adopts a condescending attitude toward the Yemeni people and portrays itself as doing them a favor by allowing ships carrying food and medicine to enter Yemeni ports.

The statement went on to say that the Yemeni people “will never forget the blood of tens of thousands of martyrs” who were martyred in Saudi airstrikes over the past twelve years.

The ministry further stressed that Saudi Arabia must end its military intervention and blockade of Yemen, warning that otherwise it should be prepared to face severe punishment in the future.

It added that Saudi Arabia must understand that the situation at Riyadh Airport should be the same as that at Sana’a Airport, and that the ports of Yanbu, Jizan, and other Saudi ports should face conditions similar to those of the port of Hodeidah.

The statement also said that Saudi Arabia should recognize that returning to the right path would carry a far lower cost than continuing past mistakes and military aggression. It emphasized that Yemen’s demands are limited to full independence, complete sovereignty, and its legitimate rights, nothing more and nothing less.

The ministry further accused Saudi Arabia of attempting to hide behind its proxies, adding that nearly 250,000 airstrikes against Yemen over the past twelve years demonstrate the reality of the conflict, according to the statement.
