Yemeni forces seize mountains overlooking Bab al-Mandab

Pars Today- Yemen’s armed forces have liberated the Al-Aghbara mountain range in the Al-Mudhariba area of Lahij Province, overlooking the strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait in the Red Sea, from Saudi-backed forces.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, the Yemeni armed forces backed by Sana’a consolidated their control over the Al-Aghbara mountain range in the Al-Mudhariba and Ras al-Ara areas, extending toward the Kahbub mountain range overlooking Bab al-Mandab.

Local sources reported that the Saudi-backed Giants Brigades, also known as the Southern Yemen Giants Brigades, retreated and abandoned their positions following an attack by the Yemeni armed forces.

The sources added that the Sana’a forces assured local tribes that they would only target gatherings of Saudi-backed forces.

The sources noted that the Yemeni armed forces’ control of these positions strengthens their presence around Bab al-Mandab, gives them greater surveillance and oversight of the area, and enables them to prevent any gathering or movement by enemy forces in the Bab al-Mandab area and along the western coast.
