The vice-president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) says the country is set to announce a government reshuffle soon.

According to Press TV, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Ale Maktoum tweeted “Today we will reveal changes in the UAE cabinet to refresh blood and to be as a motivation to change as well as a preparation for the next stage of UAE Centennial Plan.”

The so-called UAE Centennial Plan 2071 is a multi-aspect development project launched by Bin Rashid, who is the Ruler of Dubai, back in March.

The cabinet shake-up is planned to be announced later on Thursday.

The UAE cabinet comprises 29 ministers, eight of whom are currently women.

The Emirate’s political constellation is formed by an absolute monarchical rule, where Abu Dhabi’s ruler is the president and head of state, and Dubai’s ruler the prime minister.

People hold a say when it comes to electing half of the members of the Federal National Council or the Emirati federal authority.
