  • Soheil As'ad: Americans deprived of seeing world beauties/ Hollywood fight with Latin America

Pars Today- Soheil As'ad, Argentinian Muslim, said on the unreal image of America in the world, "I was in Latin America and Argentina since childhood and what Hollywood showed from us was very negative."

The ceremony of unveiling the book, "Birth in Maradona's Land", the memoirs of Argentinian Muslim Sohe As'ad, was held at the stand of Islamic Revolution Publishers of Tehran International Book Fair.

Soheil As'ad, the narrator of the book, said, "Our life is ordinary for ourselves and it has no special attraction, but there are one or two points, in the lives of people like us, which should be reflected. First, this hope should be in the heart of every human being that there is the possibility of change in life for everyone. The reader of the book should be heedful that this book is the story of change of human beings. The second point is that hearing the story of people like us, changes the views on the world."

Speaking about the unreal image of America to the world, he said, "Since childhood, I was in Latin America and Argentina and what Hollywood showed from us was very negative. Hollywood has divided geography into the part of America and its Latin and Southern part. We, too, had believed that America has authenticity and we have been annexed to it. When I grew up, I understood how powerful the media and cinema are in turning of unreal issues into reality."

He added, "I have seen Syria, Iraq and Lebanon and, in Iran, I chose Qom and I noticed how much Americans are deprived of seeing beauties as their hearts are blind. This book is an invitation so that our views are not outwardly and we look at realities."

Soheil As'ad concluded, "There are bitter memoirs in our lives which we never express them on media and in books. These memoirs are about the persons who are unknown, yet, they might have done the greatest sacrifices in the story of people like us. For instance, my family, which there are beautiful stories in the book about their presence, while their sacrifices, as the mother of four children living lonely for 6 months, have not been mentioned in the book. However, this is the most important memoir. The background of these stories are the persons who are more valuable than us and yet unknown. They are the original heroes of stories.

Attraction to Islam through love

Mehri Sadat Mareknezhad, the writer of the book, said, "I have narrated the life of Mr. As'ad from three viewpoints and I intended to show these three axial viewpoints in the text. First is that we had always been told, 'Is religion anything except love?"

What we can see in his life is that, through love, he attracts people to religion and propagates in the way of Islam. The second point is his relation with Lady Masoumeh (Peace upon her). I realized that if a light of Wilayah [love of the Prophet and his progeny] was to shine somewhere in his life, it was the light of this lady. That's why, I started and finished the book with her. I am happy that the book "Birth in Maradona's Land" is unveiled on the night of birth of Lady Masoumeh. The third viewpoint is the courage of Mr. As'ad in propagating Islam under the Wilayah [God-given authority and love] of Imam Ali (Peace upon him).
