Pars Today – Iran’s Deputy Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council stressed the need to strengthen cooperation between Iran and China in various political, economic, and security fields during a meeting with China’s Foreign Minister.

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, Ghadir Nezami, Deputy Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, met with Wang Yi, China’s Foreign Minister, on Monday on the sidelines of the meeting of national security advisors and representatives of BRICS member states in New Delhi. They discussed the latest regional and international developments, as well as bilateral cooperation.

Nezami highlighted the extensive existing capacities between the two countries and stressed the need to enhance Iran-China cooperation across political, economic, and security areas.

Wang Yi, referring to the resilience of the Iranian people in the face of foreign aggression, emphasized the Islamic Republic of Iran’s ability to safeguard its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

The two sides stressed the continuation of close consultations and the expansion of bilateral cooperation within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Iran and China.

Meeting with India’s National Security Advisor

On the sidelines of the meeting, Nezami also held talks with Ajit Doval, India’s National Security Advisor. The two sides reviewed the latest developments in West Asia, discussed Iran-India bilateral cooperation and their interactions within the BRICS framework, and emphasized the importance of continued consultations and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
