The gunman was a 20-year-old man by the name of Thomas Matthew Crooks. Expansion of political violence

The United States has been trying, for decades, to boast to the world of its political system, constitution and the structure of political power. This way, the US has tried to introduce itself as a role model of democracy and freedom to the world people and governments. But, now the US has been caught in tough circumstances. Although political crisis and violence have always been rampant in the US overtly or covertly, this issue has been aggravated and become more public for the recent years. The attack of Trump's fans to the Congress after the 2020 election was evaluated by many people as the clear example of political violence in the contemporary American society.

Now, in 2024, this violence has become more serious and deeper so that Donald Trump is assassinated in a big electoral meeting.

They have also tried to sympathize with Trump and condemn the incident to alleviate conditions and defend this country's political system. This can be seen in part of Biden's message to Trump after the assassination attempt, which reads, "There is no room for this kind of violence in the US. We should get united as a nation and condemn it."

As the American officials' try to prevent political violence surge in the country, the independent Senator, Bernie Sanders, wrote on X social network, "Political violence is absolutely unacceptable."

Former US President, Barack Obama, also wrote on X after the abortive attempt against Trump, "There is absolutely no room for political violence in our democracy. We have to make use of this moment to make ourselves committed to civility and respect in our policies once again." Robert F. Many of the republican members of the Congress, consider the democratic party and the current president as culprits of the assassination attempt against Trump. Nearly 30 of the republicans have directly castigated President Joe Biden, the democratic party and affiliated media for provocation of public opinion to put the assassination in effect.

Senator J. D. Vance of Ohio, in a message on X network, wrote, "The main assumption of the Biden battle is that Donald Trump is a despotic fascist whom should be prevented at any price. This rhetoric has directly led to the assassination attempt of Trump.

Scores of US lawmakers, too, in their messages on social networks, have called Biden or other critics of Trump as guilty of shooting to kill him.

Meanwhile, Arie Perliger, professor of political sciences of University Massachusetts, who has focused his studies mainly on political violence and assassination, says, "Assassination attempt, from many aspects, shortens the long trend of effort to undermine political rivals. There are many persons who consider assassination as a tool for helping them gain access to their goals very rapidly and effectively."
