  • Continuation of verbal war between Russian officials, West: They want to start World War III to achieve a strategic defeat of Russia

Pars Today - A senior Russian lawmaker stated that the West's words and actions regarding the Ukrainian crisis are different, and that the West has gone mad.

Leonid Slutsky, the head of the State Duma's international affairs committee, strongly criticized Western countries' support for Ukraine in its war with Russia on Tuesday.

According to Pars Today, Slutsky emphasized that Western supporters of the Zelensky regime are pushing Kiev to cross red lines, and the latest attacks on residential areas in Moscow prove this.

Slutsky stated that Moscow will hold accountable those who arm and support the Ukrainian military regime.

He added that the West is ready to start World War III in order to maintain its hegemony and achieve its ultimate goal of imposing a "strategic defeat" on Russia.

The head of the State Duma's international affairs committee continued, "I want to expose the rotten nature of Western double standards. The US Secretary of State is considering whether to allow Ukrainian fascists to kill civilians in Russia with American weapons, while imposing new sanctions on Iran based on baseless claims. Do they think they can force others to follow them with sanctions?"

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken accused Iran of sending ballistic missiles to Russia during his recent meeting with the British Foreign Secretary, and new sanctions were imposed on Iran and Russia by the US and its European allies.

The baseless accusation by the US Secretary of State comes despite the fact that John Kirby, the spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, and William Burns, the CIA director, had previously denied the claims made by American media about Iran sending ballistic missiles to Russia.
In response to the accusation, Nasser Kan’ani, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, stated that Iran's principled and declared stance on the Ukrainian crisis remains unchanged, and that the repetition of the claim about sending ballistic missiles to Russia is based on the political goals and motivations of some Western countries and is completely baseless.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson further emphasized that Tehran has never been a part of the Ukrainian conflict and military confrontation from the beginning, and stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported a political solution and bilateral dialogue to end the Ukrainian crisis and conflict.
