Pars Today – The film “The Voice of Hind Rajab” became one of the most controversial anti-Zionist works at the Venice Film Festival, receiving a 22-minute standing ovation along with chants of “Free Palestine.” The film portrays the martyrdom of Hind Rajab, a 5-year-old Palestinian child during the Gaza war, and was met with both emotional and political acclaim.

“The Voice of Hind Rajab” directed by Kaouther Ben Hania received a 22-minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival — the longest reception in the festival’s history. According to Pars Today, the film tells the true story of Hind Rajab, a 5-year-old Palestinian girl who was martyred during the Gaza war.

At the screening, the audience created a strong anti-Zionist atmosphere with tears and chants of “Free Palestine.” Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara, who joined the project as executive producers to support it, were also present at the event, holding a photo of Hind Rajab on the red carpet alongside the film’s team.

Joaquin Phoenix also wore an artist’s pin advocating for a ceasefire in support of Gaza, while his wife carried the Palestinian flag in the form of a handbag. The film features a recorded voice of Hind Rajab and reconstructs the harrowing moments of her calls to rescue workers.

The press conference for the film began with a standing ovation, during which the filmmaking team read an emotional statement. “The Voice of Hind Rajab” is now considered one of the main contenders for the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.

Two Iranian animations to feature at international festivals in Germany and Brazil

The Iranian short animations “Paper Flowers” and “Korbat” will be screened at international festivals in Germany and Brazil. “Paper Flowers,” directed by Ramak Amin Kazemi, will compete in the T-Short Festival in Germany and the Italiopolis Festival in Brazil. The film tells the story of a writer who feels he has reached the end of his journey.

“Korbat,” directed by Niloofar Naderi Tehrani, will be shown in the special narrative section of the T-Short Festival in Germany, focusing on a man who has lost his wife.

The T-Short Festival will be held in person in Germany from November 28 to 30 and online from December 1. Both animations are produced by Iran’s Center for the Development of Documentary, Experimental, and Animated Cinema.
