Meeting of Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, with Kais Saied, President of Tunisia
Pars Today – Iran’s Foreign Minister wrote: “The relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Tunisia are a shining example of Iran’s commitment to strengthening solid ties in the Islamic world; a bond based on shared interests, respect for national sovereignty, and the historical solidarity of the two nations.”
Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, in an article for a Tunisian media outlet, described Tunisia as “the cradle of civilization and culture on the southern shore of the Mediterranean” and called its position in Iran’s foreign policy “special and elevated.”
According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, Araghchi emphasized that Iran-Tunisia relations, which span more than six decades, are founded on brotherhood, mutual respect, and shared religious and cultural ties, and have always been stable and steadily growing.
The Iranian Foreign Minister highlighted the historic visit of the Tunisian President to Iran in May 2024 and his meeting with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution as a milestone in bilateral relations.
Araghchi also expressed appreciation for Tunisia’s firm and supportive stance against the Zionist regime’s aggression on Iranian soil, describing it as a sign of the deep brotherhood and unbreakable solidarity between the two nations.
The head of Iran’s foreign policy apparatus emphasized that Iran and Tunisia have always spoken with one voice on international issues, including opposing foreign intervention, defending the Palestinian cause, and resisting the normalization of relations with the Zionist regime.
The Iranian Foreign Minister further noted that expanding cultural and artistic exchanges—including in cinema, music, handicrafts, and sports—strengthens people-to-people ties, highlighting the warm reception of Iranian artistic works in Tunisia.
Araghchi described tourism between Iran and Tunisia, following the visa waiver, as an exceptional opportunity to further reinforce the brotherly relations between the two countries.
