Orthodox Jews protest in New York against Israeli regime’s crimes
Pars Today – Orthodox Jews in New York held a protest against the crimes of the Israeli regime, condemning its actions in Gaza.
Hundreds of Orthodox Jews held a protest in New York, condemning the crimes of the Israeli regime in Gaza. Holding placards, they declared: “Anti-Zionism is not anti-Semitism” and “Netanyahu and Ben-Gvir are the number one enemies of the Jewish people.” According to Pars Today, the protesters noted that they plan to organize even larger demonstrations when Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, is present at the United Nations headquarters.
Rabbi David Feldman, one of the participants in the protest, told Anadolu Agency: “Netanyahu’s visit to the United Nations creates the false impression worldwide that he represents all Jews and that his actions are endorsed by Judaism. In reality, everything that Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu defend is completely contrary to Jewish teachings and is a source of shame for our people.”
In this context, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported: “A generation of Jews is emerging who see themselves as separate from Israel.” The paper quoted 30-year-old American Jewish actress Hannah Einbinder saying, “As an American Jew, I am ashamed and angry that the massacre of the people of Gaza is funded by U.S. taxpayers.” Einbinder emphasized, “My responsibility as a Jew is to distinguish between Jews and the Israeli government.”
She made her stance clear by shouting “Free Palestine” while accepting her Emmy award — an action that, according to Haaretz, signals a significant shift in how young American Jews view Israel compared to previous generations. The newspaper added: “The number of Hollywood Jews openly distancing themselves from Israel is growing. They want to protect themselves and their faith from a government they believe is harming them.”
Meanwhile, Avraham Burg, former speaker of the Israeli Knesset, also stated: “I support holding Israel accountable in international courts. If Israel commits wrongdoing, evil acts, brutality, or crimes, it must be prosecuted.”
