Military analyst: Europe loses out in arms race
Pars Today — A military analyst, amid rising tensions between Europe and Russia, emphasized that Europe lacks effective air defense and “cannot prevail in a war of attrition.”
Andrei Martyanov, author and military analyst, citing recent military threats between Russia and Europe, said Europeans “have lost the arms race.”
According to Pars Today, citing Fars News Agency, Martyanov added: “Europe cannot win a war of attrition, it’s as simple as that. Europe does not have an effective air defense at all. All the Aster-30 missiles and everything else they deployed performed disgracefully.”
The military expert further noted: “They cannot produce enough of them. Europe simply lacks the industrial capacity to do so.”
Andrei Martyanov, referring to Europe’s historical record in arms production, stressed that “Europe has lost the arms race far worse than the United States.”
Earlier, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, citing recent drone incursions into European airspace, claimed that a “hybrid war” is ongoing between the continent and Russia, and said Europe must “develop the capability to respond and protect its skies.”
