Pars Today – The U.S. government, in a move highlighting its double standards on freedom of speech, threatened media outlets critical of its aggressive war against Iran with license revocation.
According to Pars Today, citing Mehr News Agency, a senior White House official accused media opposing the war with Iran of distortion and warned that their operating licenses could be revoked.
Brendan Carr, Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, wrote on X: “Media must operate in the public interest, or they will lose their license.”
He added: “Media outlets broadcasting fake or distorted news now have an opportunity to correct their course before their license renewal period arrives.”
This censorship in the U.S. comes as polls show that the aggressive war launched by the U.S. and the Zionist regime against Iran on February 28 is extremely unpopular domestically. A recent Quinnipiac poll found that 53 percent of Americans oppose military action against Iran, including 89 percent of Democrats and 60 percent of independent voters.
