Pars Today – Shias and followers of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in Pakistan, as well as Iranians residing in the country, celebrated the blessed Eid al-Ghadir Khumm, regarded as the “greatest Eid,” marking the declaration of the guardianship and succession of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), the first Shia Imam and the successor of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, followers of the Ahl al-Bayt across Pakistan gathered on Wednesday night in mosques and religious centers to commemorate the occasion with large and vibrant celebrations. The event marks the anniversary of the announcement of the leadership and guardianship of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) by the Prophet of Islam (PBUH).

Speakers at the ceremonies highlighted the historical event of Ghadir Khumm, describing it as a sacred and significant declaration of leadership and guardianship. Religious reciters and eulogists performed devotional hymns and praises of the Ahl al-Bayt, adding a spiritual atmosphere to the gatherings.

Iranian diplomatic and cultural missions in the cities of Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, and Peshawar also hosted Iranian nationals and Pakistani Shias on the eve of the Eid of Wilayah.

Iranian expatriates in Islamabad also held a ceremony on Wednesday night at the Iranian Embassy, attended by Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam, heads of Iranian institutions, officials of the Imam Hussein (AS) Educational Complex, embassy staff, and their families.

Sky of Yemen Illuminated in Eid al-Ghadir Celebrations

In another development, the skies over the capital Sana’a and various provinces of Yemen were illuminated on Wednesday night with fireworks marking the occasion of Eid al-Wilayah. The displays reflected the widespread public and emotional significance of this religious occasion among Yemenis and symbolized the deep cultural and historical importance of the event linked to Ghadir Khumm.

Eid al-Ghadir Commemorated in Berlin

Meanwhile, a ceremony marking Eid al-Ghadir Khumm was held at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Berlin with the participation of Iranian expatriates and supporters of the Islamic Republic.

In this ceremony, Iran’s Ambassador to Germany Majid Nili referred to the lofty status of the event of Ghadir Khumm, describing it as a clear and lasting document in the path toward Alawi justice and the concept of guardianship.
