Thousands of people rally in downtown Toronto to mark Arba’een
Thousands of people held rally in downtown Toronto, Canada, to mark ‘Great March of Arba’een’.
The 4-kilometer rally took place between 1 Strachan Ave. and ended on 361 University Ave, in which people expressed their love for Imam Hussain (PBUH), the third Shias’ Imam, and Grandson of Prophet Mohammad (Blessings of God upon him and his progeny) and marked the anniversary of 40th day after his martyrdom in the Battle of Karbala.
According to Tasnim news agency, the rally meant to propagate awareness of the Arba’een March in Iraq, which draws millions of people from all parts of the globe, and the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (PBUH) to promote justice, peace and harmony.
Imam Hussain (PBUH) stood up against the oppressive regime of the tyrant Yazid.
Both Muslims and non-Muslims have described Imam as an inspirational leader whom everyone should look up to.
