Pars Today- From the viewpoint of the holy Qur'an, the universe has been created on the basis of justice, and oppression and injustice have no place in it; and in religion, too, justice is one of the important goals of the mission of prophets. In a just view, everything must be in its real place and the right of every rightful owner should be given to him/her.

Justice is one of the fundamental concepts which the holy Qur'an has mentioned and explained in different junctures and parts making use of metaphors, allegories, and stories, and the Qur'an insists on observing it and abiding by it.

For better understanding of the importance of justice in the view of God and Islam, the book of Qur'an is the most valid work. Thus, here we are going to have a look at 8 important verses, from among the many verses of this holy book, which implicitly or explicitly deal with the issue of justice:

  1. Allah's works are based on justice.

"Allah bears witness that there is no god except Him- and [so do] the angels and those who possess knowledge- maintainer of justice, there is no god but Him, the Almighty, the All-wise." (Verse 18 of chapter Al-e Imran)

  1. There is not even an iota of wronging and injustice in God's work.

"Indeed, Allah does not wrong [anyone even to the extent of] an atom's weight, and if it be a good deed, He doubles it [s reward] and gives from Himself a great reward." (Verse 40 of chapter Al-Nisa')

  1. Treat people with justice.

"Indeed, Allah commands you to deliver the trusts to their owners, and, when you judge between people, to judge with fairness. Excellent indeed is what Allah advises you. Indeed, Allah is All-hearing, All-seeing." (Verse 58 of chapter Al-Nisa')

  1. Do not behave unjustly out of enmity towards others.

"O you who have faith! Be maintainers, as witnesses for the sake of Allah, of justice, and ill feeling for a people should never lead you to be unfair. Be fair; that is nearer to Godwariness, and be wary of Allah. Allah is indeed well aware of what you do." (Verse 8 of chapter Al-Ma'idah)

  1. God does not wrong even the wrongdoers.

"Were any soul that has done wrong to possess whatever there is on earth, it would surely offer it for ransom. They will hide their remorse when they sight the punishment; and judgment will be made between them with justice and they will not be wronged." (Verse 54 of chapter Yunus)

  1. Do not behave unjustly in fulfilling people's rights.

"O my people! Observe fully the measure and the balance, with justice, and do not cheat the people of their goods, and do not act wickedly on earth, causing corruption." (Verse 85 of chapter Hud)

  1. People should maintain justice.

"Certainly We sent our apostles with manifest proofs, and We sent down with them the Book and the Balance, so that mankind may maintain justice." (Verse 25 of chapter Al-Hadid)

  1. God loves the just.

"… and do justice. Indeed, Allah loves the just." (Verse 9 of chapter Hujurat)
