OpenAI report: Israel manipulates Indian public opinion through artificial intelligence
Pars Today - According to a report by OpenAI, an Israeli company has been interfering in the Indian election process by using artificial intelligence to influence public opinion.
The report reveals that the Israelis have been using AI to generate and edit web articles and shape public opinion on social media platforms in India, including X, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
The research by OpenAI shows that the Israeli company, STOIC, has been identifying gaps between Indian political parties, particularly the BJP, and other parties, and generating content to exploit these divisions.
The content has been designed to marginalize critical voices against Israel and exacerbate internal divisions in India, targeting Indian public opinion.
The covert operations of this Israeli group have also been trying to manipulate public opinion unfavorable to Israel's policies and influence political outcomes in different regions.
According to OpenAI, the Israeli actors have been trying to deceive the Indian people about who they are and what they want to achieve.
One of the tactics used by this Israeli influence group has been to praise certain Indian users' opinions on social media and encourage them while attacking other Indian users.
More details have not been released on the extent to which this large Israeli content production group has played a role in creating divisions between Hindus and Muslims using artificial intelligence.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the Union Minister of Electronics and Technology, reacted strongly to the revelations in the report, saying: "It is clear and obvious that the BJP has been the target of infiltration, misinformation, and interference, and it is a dangerous threat to Indian democracy."
He called the Israeli actions a dangerous threat to Indian democracy and said: “It is clear that their interests guide this matter and require deep scrutiny and exposure.
