Iran’s Islamic Revolution negated any form of hegemony and oppression and practically showed struggle against Global Arrogance. This revolution stood against then two blocs of the west and the east alone. The revolutionary element is a unique feature of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The ideology of the Islamic Revolution is based on justice-seeking and negation of any form of dominance and excessive demands.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamanei said, “This religious and revolutionary belief deepened the spirit of struggle and being revolutionary not just among the Iranian nation but among all nations who seek justice.”

That’s why from the very beginning, this revolution has faced the ranks of hegemonic and bullying powers.

The Islamic Revolution has challenged the arrogant powers in two key domains of power equation. First, it has strongly ruled out the western dominance over weak nations and showed that a nation can release itself from the yoke of the world powers even with bare hands. Secondly, the Islamic Revolution is moving forward independently with no reliance on the support of the world powers. This was manifested in the motto of “Neither East, nor West; Islam is the Best”.

Imam Khomeini said, “The Islamic Republic system practically showed that it has the great elements of power which are the support of masses.”

As a matter of fact the newfound Islamic Republic, unlike the common political equations in the world during the bipolar era, created a different equation which inclined toward the oppressed nations rather than global powers.

Imam Khomeini said, “That’s why the victory of the Islamic Revolution created a turning point in models and patterns of revolutionary struggles in its era.”

The roots of the Islamic Revolution were deeper than the common calculations of the former revolutions in the world. This revolution was not for bread or house like the Communist revolutions. This revolution was not inclined toward the capitalist bloc and didn’t seek any share of the power. It was a movement for getting rid of the internal oppression and foreign hegemony. It pursued dignity and negated humiliation imposed by the big powers of the time especially the United States of America. Iran’s revolution had aimed at revival of Islamic values and has not abandoned these values for a single moment.

Sajjad al-Musavi, political analyst says, “Today you can see the clearest moves of Muslims in places where they were under pressure for long years; like Kashmir and other countries in which Muslims have risen up. If you look at the people of Palestine in the Occupied Territories you’ll see that people are really struggling with pressure. This struggle is carried out in hard conditions in Palestine but the people continue this struggle. The Afghan nation which faced with many hardships and there was no one in the world to help them even one day; they fought alone and under oppression, stood and continued. Other nations are the same and this has originated in the model of Islam and the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

That’s why this great event on one hand stirred the wave of fervor and hope among Muslims and Downtrodden in the world and challenged the political equations of the Front of Arrogance in containing revolutionary movements on the other hand.

The Islamic Revolution, with its peerless values, has indeed destroyed the calculations of the domineering system and divisions of the western and eastern blocs of the world nations. Hence it aroused the wrath of the Global Arrogance spearheaded by the Great Satan as Imam Khomeini used to call the regime of Washington. The Islamic Revolution crossed over the self-imposed redlines of the bipolar system and presented novel criteria in the face of the hegemonic system. The victory of the Islamic Revolution in fact put Iran in a new course exactly opposite the goals and interests of the Global Arrogance. Political expert, Saida Salhi says, “No doubt the Islamic Revolution is the major cause of awakening of Muslim nations. I am from Bahrain and I used to follow up the developments of Iran after the triumph of the Islamic Revolution in the country. Living in Iran is an aspiration for me. Of course, I should say that today America has understood more than ever the danger of spread of the Islamic Awakening and impact of Iran’s revolution and tries to put obstacle on the spread of Iran’s revolution. But the fact is that the message of Iran’s revolution has reached us.”

This confrontation means the defence of a revolutionary nation of its dignity, independence and grandeur against the excessive demands of world powers. That’s exactly why the history of the Islamic Revolution has been full of struggle and steadfastness against all vestiges of oppression and injustice and this struggle will not end till final victory.

The Global Arrogance, led by the US, since the very beginning put on its agenda to encounter the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic Republic system of Iran. The American regime has left no stone unturned to overthrow the Islamic Republic. Italian analyst, Claudio Mofa says, “The August 19, 1963 coup d’état, imposition of Capitulation Bill and humiliation of the great Iranian nation, supporting and strengthening the despotic Pahlavi regime, the event of Tabas, Nojeh coup d’état, economic siege and sanctions against the Islamic Republic system, provocation of Iraq for war against Iran, downing the Islamic Republic of Iran’s passenger plane, political and propaganda hype against the Islamic Republic system are the enmities that the US has carried out against Iran and they have been registered in history.”

To this list of the US enmities against the Islamic Republic of Iran, one should add other issues such as piling up of baseless charges against Iran in the nuclear program and obstructionism in Iran’s foreign relations. The United States has never stopped hostility against Iran but it has changed methods and strategies. All these efforts of the US are aimed at intimidating Iran and forcing it to surrender in a bid to prevent it from becoming a role model for other oppressed nations. However, the Iranian nation has never bowed down to the demands of the US and has turned from strength to strength through all plots hatched by the US and its partners in crime.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei, said, “The biggest world powers have put their motto to encounter the Islamic Republic! They think that they can intimidate and threaten the Iranian nation with this. They don’t know that the Iranian nation feels identity when sees that the most materialist and wicked powers of the world consider the Iranian nation as the hindrance to reach their sinister goals. This is not a trivial matter. They say ‘we want to do such and such in the Middle East’; while they don’t say one tenth of their sinister goals. The Iranian nation is the obstacle. This shows the grandeur of this nation, the grandeur of this system, the grandeur of this government which has managed to prevent the arrogant in the world - at least in a certain region in the geography of the world - from gaining their goals”.

The Iranian nation’s resistance and steadfastness against the domineering system is not a mere motto but it is the manifestation of the values it firmly believes and relying on which it has succeeded in foiling the plots.

The western strategic measures, both during the 8 year war and after that, failed to force Iran to surrender. This firm resistance sends a clear message to the enemies of the Iranian nation. As the Leader of the Islamic Revolution noted the multitude of threats indicates the Islamic system’s power; for, if the Islamic Republic did not have high power and effectiveness the ill-wishers of the Iranian nation wouldn’t resort to any means so frantically.

The Islamic Revolution is 38 years old but it continues to attract everybody who seeks freedom, independence, dignity and human values. The Islamic Revolution showed the power and grand capacities of Islam to the world. The formation of Islamic Awakening movement was inspired by Iran’s Islamic Revolution. Today, one can say with certainty that one of the reasons for the anxiety of arrogant powers is the Islamic Republic and Islamic Revolution. American linguist and political activist, Noam Chomsky, says, “As long as Iran remains independent and doesn’t bow down to the US hegemony the US enmities and oppositions will continue. The Islamic Republic of Iran is not acceptable in view of the US for it does not ignore its independence.”
