Iranian women win five medals at Open Taekwondo Championships

Pars Today – Iran's women's national team delivered a strong performance in the Open Taekwondo Competitions in South Korea, securing one gold, one silver, and three bronze medals.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News Agency, in the South Korea Open Taekwondo Championships, Hana Zarrinkamar from Iran, competing in the over-73 kg weight category, stood atop the podium with a brilliant performance. After defeating representatives from Chinese Taipei and South Korea, she also overcame a prominent Chinese national team member in the final match and claimed the gold medal of the competition.

Nahid Kiani, the captain of Iran's national team, in the under-57 kg weight category, advanced to the final after four consecutive victories against representatives from India, Australia, Uzbekistan, and China. In the final match, she conceded defeat to the experienced Moroccan national team member and settled for the silver medal.

In the under-46 kg weight category, Sayna Karimi, another Iranian female athlete, delivered an admirable performance, reaching the semifinals with three consecutive victories over representatives from Britain, Russia, and China. By standing on the third-place podium, she secured the bronze medal of the competition.

Saghar Moradi, Iran's national team member in the under-67 kg weight category, also advanced to the semifinals after overcoming representatives from South Korea, the United States, and Chinese Taipei. Following a defeat against the host country's representative, she earned the bronze medal.

In the under-73 kg weight category, Baran Nemati from Iran advanced to the semifinals after defeating a representative from Chinese Taipei, secured her bronze medal, and ultimately, by placing third on the podium, earned her first international medal.
