Welcome to the last episode of this series.

Warmongering is one of the manifestations of the western culture in the modern era. Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei once raised the topic of “Modern Jahilia” (modern ignorance) and mentioned the terrorist measures of recent years as clear examples of this phenomenon. Terrorism, insecurity and killing innocent people are the manifestations of the modern Jahilia which are perpetrated with the support of the Global Arrogance embodied by the regime of the United States of America.

Voice of the Leader

Expounding the causes of this Jahilia, the Leader mentions “promiscuity” and “wrath” as the two elements of the era of Jahilia before Islam and, pointing to the re-birth of the pre-Islamic Jahilia in the contemporary era on the same two elements, adds,

Voice of the Leader

The era of Jahilia in fact includes savagery, egotism and despotism. In other words, Jahilia forces the individual out of humanity and causes him forget his human nature. This decadent move has started in the western communities and is growing through the racist ideologies in the west. In the beginning of the third millennium human beings witness the birth of the schools like neo-Nazism and the far rightist currents in Europe and the west. These currents are manifested in extremism and bestial acts in the western communities. They adhere to racist and discriminative views on the “other” no matter if this “other” differs in race or religion. Journalist, Barry Robin, says, “Today, in the post-industrial era and the third millennium, man lives in ignorance; an extra and modern ignorance, an ignorance that has been created thanks to the moral and cultural colonialism and exploitation of the west and because of avarice and seeking of the world. Today, too, moral values have subsided in different communities. The modern ignorance buries girls alive; not their bodies but their spirit, psyche, personality and chastity. In the new era, too, we witness long bloody wars; this time with the motto of democracy, justice-seeking and love of human. We witness the torture of the weak; this time in Abu Ghraib or Guantanamo.”

This deviated current for a few past decades has caused moral values and human merits perish and as the society distances from spirituality bestial behaviors take their place.

It is exactly in this vicious circle that science is put at the service of excessive demands of the global rulers and with the development of science and technology this Jahilia (ignorance) has appeared in the modern form. Najran A’zam, expert of social issues, says, “Ferocious behaviors in the American and western communities indicate a kind of dissatisfaction at the social relations for in the west we are witness to social disorder. Social and economic inequalities that are contrary to the principles of democracy have led to escaping from society and rebellion against the society. The crisis of lack of spirituality is at its zenith in the west.”

The fact is that the unbridled terrorism is the fruit of modern Jahilia which has provided the ground for the growth of deviated ideas. The emergence of terrorist groups such as Al-Qaeda, DAESH, Jabhat al-Nusra, Boko Haram, al-Shabab, Ahrar al-Sham and scores of other bestial outfits are the outcome of the beliefs of Jahilia. These groups do not consider any restrictions for their gory acts. Burning women and children and destroying historical heritage of human communities have turned into a common practice for them. Demolition of historical monuments in Iraq, Syria and al-Quds show the dangerous impacts of such an ideology.

Political expert, Adnan Sabah, says, “Terrorists are hell-bent on obliterating the heritage of the ancestors while the world people are startled. These hard-line elements with their sick Takfiri thought have embarked on destruction of ancient monuments of Iraq. Terrorist groups are not literate and in the name of religion have been employed by the countries which support them financially and ideologically. This is the outcome of modern Jahilia.”

Through internalization of such an ideology racist groups, with varied names and titles, are of the opinion that they are superior to others in terms of colour of skin and race. Throughout history this very thought has urged Jahilia toward humiliation of other groups and beliefs and justification of coercive and violent measures against the target groups in the society or other countries.

Today, strategic and expansionist goals and disturbance of regional balances and equations can no more be concealed behind humanitarian rhetoric. One clear instance of these measures is the weird decision of the new US president Donald Trump in banning the entrance of Muslims to America. Trump issued an executive order on January 27, 2017 which limits the entrance of refugees to the US soil for 4 months and temporarily bans the stay of travelers from 7 West Asian countries including Iran.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has time and again warned that if terrorism and unbridled conducts had been confronted from the very onset, we wouldn’t have witnessed spread of savage measures and massacre of innocent people in different parts of the world especially West Asia.

Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani, in his first speech at the UN General Assembly, which coincided with the new wave of terrorism in the region, described war and hostile conducts in the region and the world tantamount to the destruction of human dignity. He said, “I come from a region whose important parts are burning in extremism. In the west and east of my country extremism is threatening our neighbouring countries.”

Rouhani criticized double standard confrontations with terrorism and said that some countries, when they deem terrorism to their benefit, keep silent vis-à-vis carnage of human beings and when these acts are to their detriment they begin reciprocating. But the big powers can no more hide the realities from nations.

Hassan Rouhani, stressing the efficacy of peace against war proposed that a plan for the world against violence and extremism to be put on the UN agenda. On the basis of this plan the UN passed resolution in September 2013. Moreover, in the 69th session of the UN General Assembly, the Iranian president explained Iran’s principled stances and emphasized that West Asia is thirsty for development and weary of war.

Rouhani’s voice

The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that for fighting terrorism its springs should be dried. Terrorism cannot be divided into good and bad. The policies of the so-called coalition against terrorism have led to bombardment of civilian regions. The real aim of this coalition has never been fighting terrorism. Today we see that terrorism has expanded, got stronger, and even become more attractive for some narrow-minded fools.

UN Secretary General, Antonio Gutierrez, who was the UN high commissioner for refugees from June 2005 – December 2015, underlined this issue in an interview, “The international community should overcome its indifferences and find solution for conflicts in different regions of the world.”

The fact is that the achievement of the US and NATO military power after the 9/11 has been just war, separatism, insecurity, and terrorism among nations especially Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Yemen. This shows the hollowness of the mottoes and claims of the west. Political analyst, Richard Hale says, “The 9/11 event was the turning point in the international politics. From that time on, the US relations with the Middle Eastern countries was impacted by the climate of 9/11. Reviewing a decade of the US policy indicates that, with this pretext, it has attacked a country directly like Iraq and Afghanistan or indirectly like Syria in order to support terrorists. In my opinion this much violence, war and carnage is in stark contrast to setting up peace and calm.”

The US claim of struggling terrorism or fabricated coalitions have fake nature and the reason is the US and western full support for the currents such as al-Qaeda, DAESH and other outfits. This, as the United States with various types of weapons of mass destruction including nuclear bombs and warheads seeks to create safe margin for the criminal and child-killer Zionist regime and has always defended this barbaric policy.

This black and bloody record proves that the western civilization has been founded on lies and deception no matter how much the westerners chant attractive slogans. History is going to repeat itself. The domineering powers, led by the US, are pursuing the old colonialist motives to weaken Islamic countries.
