Let's Know Islam (210)
Welcome to this week's episode of the series Let's Know Islam. Today, we continue to discuss the consideration of the records of conduct of mankind before the divine court on the Day of Resurrection.
Holy Quran notes that on the Day of Judgement, people attend the divine court and are grouped based on their thoughts and deeds. On the Day of Resurrection, records of conduct of individuals are revealed, while witnesses speak up, disclosing the entire deeds of individuals.
In other words, it can be said that the deeds that mankind carries out in this world are his assets in Hereafter, and the truth of everyone's deeds is revealed in Hereafter.
Last week, we pointed out that the consideration of the records of conduct of mankind on the Day of Judgement, takes place differently in comparison to what we imagine in the material world. This is because Hereafter is superior to our material world.
We also said that our spirit and body are an archive of our entire deeds, behaviors, and remarks throughout our lifetime. In this manner, each of our deeds and behaviors leave an impact upon us. Our good deeds and misdeeds leave impacts on our bodies and souls.
On the Day of Resurrection, questions are asked from everyone.
God in the 6th ayah of Surat al-A'raf in Holy Quran notes: "We will surely question those to whom the apostles were sent, and We will surely question the apostles."
Based on this ayah, the entire mankind is questioned on the Day of Judgement.
On the Day of Judgement, God deals with the records of conduct of mankind. He is all-wise, prudent, just, and kind; does not impose an iota of injustice upon anyone, and is aware of all of our thoughts and deeds. The fact of the matter is that God quickly deals with the records of conduct of the nations and ethnicities throughout the course of history and determines their fate. Based on an Islamic narration, God takes into account and calculates the deeds of the entire mankind in a blink of an eye. This is because God Almighty is All-wise and omnipotent.
Now, the thought that springs to mind is what questions are asked from mankind on the Day of Judgement. The fact is that on the Day of Judgement, all of mankind's deeds are questioned.
The 7th and 8th ayahs of Surat al-Zalzalah in Holy Quran note: "So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it."
The 47th ayah of Surat al-Anbiya refers to highly precise and accurate consideration of mankind's deeds on the Day of Judgement, noting: "We shall set up the scales of justice on the Day of Resurrection, and no soul will be wronged in the least. Even if it be the weight of a mustard seed We shall produce it and We suffice as reckoners."
In this ayah, God points out the highly precise and just calculation of human deeds on the Day of Judgement so that disbelievers, oppressors, and/or offenders and sinners would know that all of their misdeeds will be on the spotlight and dealt with on the Day of Judgement.
The calculation of the deeds of mankind in the divine court on the Day of Resurrection is impeccable and just.
