US President Donald Trump received a stunning blow from his Syrian counterpart, President Dr. Bashar al-Assad concerning Trump's uncultured words.

The arrogant and insolence behaviour of the quixotic US president, Donald Trump, that is driving him toward self-destruction, received a stunning blow from his Syrian counterpart, President Dr. Bashar al-Assad, who suavely dismissed the uncultured American’s hurling of the expletive “animal” at him, as reflection of the US president’s own personality, saying he cannot descend to such low levels to exchange insults.

In this regard, we present you the Viewpoint Column that appeared in Iran’s English language daily Kayhan International on Saturday June 2, written by S. Nawabzadeh and titled: “President Assad Displays Difference between Human Being & Beast.”

Kayhan International first cited ayah 63 of Surah al-Furqan of the holy Qur’an, where God Almighty says:

“The servants of the All-Beneficent are those who walk humbly on the earth, and when the ignorant address them, (they) say, ‘Peace!’

The daily then quoted in this regard a hadith on Islamic ethics by Prophet Mohammad (blessings of God upon him and his progeny):

“If a fasting person when abused, replies ‘peace upon you I will not abuse as you do’, the Lord, the Exalted and Most High, says: By fasting, My servant has saved himself from the evil of My (other) servant, I grant him refuge against the fire.”

Kayhan International then said: “The above mentioned passages are indeed food for thought; and a barometer separating the educated from the ignorant, the impeccable from the immoral, and ultimately the winner from the loser –both in transient life and the Hereafter.

“If the first is part of God’s Revealed Word in the Holy Qur’an, the second is a hadith or dynamic narration on ethical behaviour from the Last and Greatest Prophet, who says he was sent by God to perfect the best of morals.

“In other words, these passages are among the immortal guidelines for mankind on how to develop into real human beings through proper cognizance of God and absorption of ethical values, rather than allowing oneself to be deceived by Satan and turning into brainless beasts that resort to insults and indulge in rapacious acts.”

Kayhan International then pointed out: “The other day when the Syrian president was asked about the depredatory words used against him by his American counterpart, he behaved like a real gentleman and said with a smile on his face: “This is not my language, so, I cannot use similar language (against him). This is his language. It represents him.”

“Dr. Bashar al-Assad, an ophthalmologist by profession known for his political prudence and deep insight, didn’t descend to the depths of the foul-mouthed billionaire businessman Donald Trump, whom money has failed to give any class or good breeding, nor has political leadership instilled any ethical responsibility.

“Assad added: “I think there is a known principle, that what you say is what you are. So, he (Trump) wanted to represent what he is, and that’s normal.”

The Iranian English language daily wrote: “It is thus clear that there is a world of a difference between the two – the educated doctor and the American imbecile – that ultimately decides who is the winner and who is the loser in the foreign-engineered crisis in the ancient land of Syria.

“It is obvious Assad has weathered the storm of the most macabre-ever form of terrorism unleashed on his country over the past seven years by the unholy trinity of the US, Israel, and Arab reactionary regimes, in addition to the present phase of the US-Zionist bombardment and occupation of parts of Syria by the American Empire. Yet he refuses to engage in a game of insults with his sworn enemies, whose one single goal is his overthrow and the sanctions against the progressive forces helping him defeat aggression.”

According to Kayhan International: “Trump, contrary to his claims of being a Christian, is without the least doubt grossly ignorant of even the basic information on the impeccable personality of Jesus (peace upon him), while his Arab reactionary allies, despite masquerading as Muslims, are totally unaware of the exemplary ethics of Prophet Mohammad (blessings of God upon him and his progeny).

“This explains for the destruction and destabilization of countries by these two forces of evil, in complicity with the devilish Zionists, ranging from Libya in North Africa to Syria, Iraq, and Yemen in West Asia, as well as Afghanistan in southern Asia.

“This also means that President Bashar al-Assad, who is now politely calling on the Americans to end their illegal military presence on Syrian soil and leave in peace before it is too late, since his government is determined to liberate all parts of the country from foreign-backed elements, appears to be well aware of the teachings of Islam and the legacy of Jesus that intertwine to make a person a real human being – otherwise he wouldn’t have expressed gratitude to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Russia and Lebanon’s legendry anti-terrorist movement, the Hezbollah, for having provided timely help to save Syria from the tentacles of the terrorists.”

Kayhan International noted: “Assad’s latest message to the aggressors, whether the Americans or those of the Syrians who have been deceived to turn into Trump’s mercenaries, is crystal clear: Lay down the arms and return to the mainstream or get ready to face force.

“Instead of threats, he has rightly offered negotiations to the Kurdish dissidents and their allied militants, pointing out that since they are Syrians, and are supposed to like their country, they should live with each other as Syrians, rather than become puppets to any foreign forces.

The Daily said: “Assad has spoken like a real human being, in contrast to the rapacious animals from the other side of the world who since the middle of the 20th century have murdered scores of millions of innocent people in the Old World with the most destructive weapons including atomic and napalm bombs, by resorting to coups, invasions, and occupations.”

The name of President Bashar Assad, who restored stability to Syria, like the name of his late father President Hafez Assad, who built Syria into a powerful state, will continue to be remembered throughout the world, long after Trump is thrown into the trash bin of history, and his remains eaten by snakes and insects, as predicted by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
