Importance of World Quds Day

Today, the Last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadhan, is as usual a special day for Muslims worldwide.

In addition, to its religious significance as “Jummat-al-Weda” or Farewell Friday, its political and social importance was emphasized in 1979 when it was declared World Quds Day by that Sage of the Age, Imam Khomeini (God bless him), for mobilizing the ummah for the eventual liberation of Islam’s former Qibla, the al-Aqsa Mosque in Bayt ol-Moqaddas from the tentacles of the illegal Zionist entity. Since then the day has gathered momentum, and is marked all over the world with rallies drawing attention to the plight of Palestine and its inhabitants over the past 70 years. Now we have a special feature in this regard.

It was indeed a dynamic step by the Father of the Islamic Revolution to designate the Last Friday of the Blessed Month of Ramadhan as International Quds Day in order to mobilise the Muslim World in support of the oppressed Palestinian people and to instill hope that Bayt al-Moqaddas, the third holiest Islamic city should be liberated by ending the illegal existence of the Zionist entity. Please stay with us for an analysis on this occasion.

It was a farsighted move by Imam Khomeini at a time when Arab reactionary regimes had ganged up with the West to try to confer legitimacy on the illegal Zionist entity, following the Egyptian traitor Anwar Saadaat’s signing of the scandalous Camp David Accord in 1978. The Founder of the Islamic Republic’s dynamic move in 1979 checkmated the conspirators’ plot to dampen the aspirations of world Muslims. At the same time, it busted the myth of the holocaust which the Zionists and their godfathers allege happened in Europe during World War 2. To be fair and frank, no holocaust occurred last century in Europe, where the total population of the Jews on the entire continent (Russia included) was far below six million. Actually holocaust was being planned on a gigantic scale in Palestine – a land to which European Jews have no connection since they are ethnic Khazars without any link to the Israelites of the past, the majority of whose descendants today are Muslims and some Christians. For the information of our listeners, Holocaust is a Greek word referring to horrible burning of humans with fire, as was done in the ancient times by the Israelites to the Christians for refusing to follow their beliefs. It also refers to what the illegal Zionist entity is doing in Gaza today by raining fire upon Palestinians and burning men, women, and children alive.

This year’s Quds Day Rallies are being held at a crucial juncture. Hamas, which rules Gaza, finds itself in an awkward position. Reactionary Arab regimes, headed by Saudi Arabia, have openly ganged up with Israel against Islam and Muslims, and are calling Hamas “terrorist”. In Syria, following the setbacks suffered by the Takfiri terrorists, the US, led by the quixotic Donald Trump, is trying to destabilize the region, dropping whatever pretensions that Washington had to the supposed 2-state solution. To further provoke Muslims, Zionist premier, Benjamin Netanyahu, held a provocative cabinet meeting inside the tunnels that the Israelis have dug up underneath the al-Aqsa Mosque.

Nonetheless, the Palestinians are putting up brave resistance against heavy odds. This spirit of resistance is very much alive in Palestine. The Palestinians have been quick to note that despite the recent wrong decisions of the Hamas leaders in trying to cozy up to the Takfiris and reactionary Arab regimes, which brought them nothing but disgrace, Seyyed Hassan Nasrollah, the leader of Lebanon’s legendry anti-terrorist movement, the Hezbollah, has been magnanimous to reaffirm support for the Palestinians. On the other hand, the cowardly Takfiri terrorists have exposed their Zionist roots by saying they have no quarrel with the Israelis who are “People of the Book”, and their enmity is with all those who, in obedience to God’s commandment in the holy Qur’an, revere the blessed Ahl al-Bayt of Prophet Mohammad (blessings of God upon him and his progeny).

The Ummah is in quest of a united Islamic stand, and as Islamic Iran has shown the way over the past three-and-a-half decades, only Islamic solidarity, and not sectarianism or narrow Arab nationalism will liberate Palestine. The days that went by saw Iran’s legendry anti-terrorist organisation – at the name of which terrorists of every hue and colour shudder – fired a salvo missiles at Deir az-Zour in Syria, by blasting the headquarters of the perpetrators of recent terrorist attacks in Tehran on the parliament and the mausoleum of the Father of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini.

Iran’s decisive response, on the threshold of the World Qods Day is indeed a sign of encouragement to Muslims all over the world that terrorism will receive fatal blows. This action by Iran is also a warning to the illegal Zionist entity and its godfather the US that Palestine and Bayt al-Moqaddas will definitely be liberated one day, and that is not far. As the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has made it clear, Palestine means the entire land between the borders of Egypt to the south and Lebanon to the north, and from the Mediterranean Sea coast in the west to the banks of the River Jordan in the east. And this could be achieved through a peaceful voting process under the auspices of the UN and with the participation in a referendum of all Palestinians, whether Muslims, Christian, and the original Jewish inhabitants of the land, but off course, without the Zionists who should go back to their countries of origin before they are unceremoniously thrown out.

Imam Khomeini had prophetically said: “Israel is a cancerous tumour that ought to be weeded out from the region.”

Here, while speaking of the aspirations of the Muslims to liberate Palestine and al-Aqsa, it should be interesting to recall that over 8 centuries ago it was united Muslim resolve made up of Turks, Kurds, Iranians and Arabs that liberated Bayt al-Moqaddas from 88 years of occupation by the Crusaders of Europe in 1188. It means we should not lose hope in our abilities, and once the Muslims close ranks, history will be repeated. So let us earnestly pray to God Almighty for the deliverance of the Ummah from the plots of the enemies of humanity, including the dastardly Takfiris and their godfathers, who are terrorizing Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and other lands. This is the message of the World Qods Day, and this is what the Islamic Republic of Iran firmly believes for the sake of peace, and safeguarding of humanitarian values. This should resonate all over the world today on the 23rd of June, as millions of Iranians take to the streets to voice support for the Palestinian cause.

Today the collective power of Muslim countries – if properly mobilized – can make history repeat. And in the same manner as the Muslims had graciously allowed tens of thousands of women, children and men of the occupier Crusade regime to board the ships back to Europe from where they, their parents or their ancestors had come, today also we can be magnanimous to the people calling themselves citizens of the spurious entity called Israel. Otherwise, they are unprintable prophecies in Islamic texts of the fate that will befall the Zionists who will not even find a safe place behind the supposedly impenetrable rocks and mountains havens, like the one in which they have built the Dimona nuclear plant.

Israel is daydreaming if it thinks that its threats of attacking Iran, coupled with the US military presence in the region and divisions among Arab states has brought it a step closer to its cherished goal of ‘Greater Israel’ stretching from the River Nile in Egypt to the River Euphrates in Iraq. The Zionists are living in a fool’s paradise if they believe that atomic bombs and other weapons of mass destruction would bail them out.

Imam Khomeini had wisely predicted of this budding Islamic solidarity, saying: “If the world’s billion plus Muslims, each pour a bucket of water, Israel will be drowned.”
