Lavrov: Russia seeks a just resolution to Ukraine conflict

Pars Today – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin, following a telephone conversation with his American counterpart Donald Trump, emphasized Moscow’s focus on a fair settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.

Sergei Lavrov, speaking on the sidelines of a religious ceremony of Orthodox Christianity, added: “This position was reaffirmed with full confidence yesterday by the president of Russia.” Earlier, President Putin told the media that his telephone conversation with Trump lasted more than two hours, and in the telephone call, he noted that Russia, for its part, is in favor of a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine and is ready to cooperate with Kyiv on a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on a future peace treaty. /IRNA
