Iran's president: We welcome peace between Pakistan & India

Pars Today – The Iranian president said that maintaining lasting security and fostering friendly ties with neighbors is a mutual interest, adding that Tehran welcomes a ceasefire and the establishment of peace between Pakistan and India.

In a joint press conference with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday evening, Masoud Pezeshkian welcomed the visiting delegation and stated that Pakistan is an important neighbor with deep historical and cultural ties to Iran.

Pezeshkian noted that during talks with the Pakistani prime minister, the situation in the region and the Islamic world was discussed, with particular emphasis on the Palestinian issue.

He stated that Iran and Pakistan, as active members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), support the Palestinian cause and the oppressed people of Gaza, and strongly condemn the Zionist regime’s ongoing atrocities and Western silence and complicity. He called on Islamic countries to fully support the Palestinian people. / IRNA
