Ghalibaf: Expansion of Iran-India economic and parliamentary cooperation is essential

Pars Today – On the sidelines of the 11th BRICS Parliamentary Forum, Iran’s Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf met and conferred with Shri Om Birla, Speaker of the Lok Sabha (India’s House of the People), emphasizing the need to strengthen economic cooperation and develop parliamentary ties between the two countries.

Highlighting the historical and cultural commonalities between Iran and India, Ghalibaf stated that the two nations are capable of significantly enhancing their interactions. He also stressed the important roles Tehran and New Delhi play in the region and called for an elevated level of parliamentary relations.

Om Birla, in turn, noted the deep historical and civilizational ties between Iran and India, expressing confidence that bilateral cooperation will expand in the future. (IRIB news agency)
