Lavrov: US debt spiraling out of control

Pars Today – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that the US administration's debt situation is rapidly spiraling out of control and confidence in the US dollar has significantly declined.

Lavrov said the erosion of the global economic order has accelerated due to unilateral and illegal sanctions and the use of the dollar as a punitive tool. "Trust in the US currency—which was once a reliable means of payment—has been weakened," he stressed.

He noted that since 2011, the number of heavily indebted countries has risen from 22 to 59. "The United States is now facing an unprecedented level of debt, which has reached $37 trillion—and it is still growing."
