IOC president expresses solidarity with the people of Iran

Pars Today – The President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has expressed his condolences, support, and solidarity with the people of Iran and the country’s sports community.

In a letter to Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, President of Iran’s National Olympic Committee, Kirsty Coventry wrote: “As you know, the International Olympic Committee has always stood for peace, reconciliation, and solidarity. Rest assured that in these increasingly difficult international circumstances, the IOC will make every effort at all levels to protect and promote the core principles of Olympism and the unifying power of sport.”

Coventry added: “We appreciate your valued cooperation and ongoing efforts to advance Olympic values, and we stand fully ready to provide any special assistance if needed.” /IRIB news agency
