Netanyahu holds emergency meeting amid cabinet divisions over prisoner exchange

Pars Today – Israeli media have reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held an emergency meeting to discuss a potential prisoner exchange deal with Hamas.

Israel’s public broadcaster said the focus of the meeting was the latest developments in the prisoner swap negotiations. Channel 12 reported that Netanyahu summoned two key ministers: Itamar Ben Gvir, Minister of National Security, and Bezalel Smotrich, Finance Minister, for the session.

Channel 14, quoting sources close to Netanyahu, reported that Yair Golan, Head of the Democratic Union, harshly criticized Netanyahu, Ben Gvir, and Smotrich, charging them with obstructing the talks to protect their personal interests and political survival.
